Life as a day pupil

Having a separate heading on the website is the only real distinction to be made between day and boarding pupils at Wellesley.

Where boarders have a Housemaster, day children have a designated member of staff who looks after their needs. As a day child at Wellesley House the same opportunities are on offer and school life is much the same as that for boarders.

The school day starts at 8.20 a.m. and children can be collected at 5.15 p.m. although many choose to stay later to attend the supervised prep sessions in which they can gain help from their subject teachers, or to take advantage of the many activities on offer in the evenings.

Children can make use of the daily minibus which is available to parents living in East Kent.

Many day children stay on for lectures or entertainment in the evenings, all contributing to the family feel that pervades at Wellesley.

Day children are welcome to join the boarders for breakfast and supper.  Many do.
