Location & Directions
Wellesley House is situated in the sea-side resort of Broadstairs, on a part of the Kent coast previously voted one of the world's top travel destinations. A guide reviewed in The Daily Telegraph said Kent "shone out as an area that would be of great interest in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics" and beyond.
Broadstairs is conveniently served by the high-speed train service from St Pancras with journey times to the capital as little as 1 hour 15 minutes. Getting to Wellesley is made even easier for boarders, however, by the provision of bus transfers to and from London, and a number of other destinations, at most exeats and half-terms. The collection and drop off times for these are published on each term's calendar. A member of staff escorts each journey.
Current routes include:
London - calling at The Rosery Gate at Battersea Park and the M2 services
Essex - calling at Brentwood services at Junction 28 on the M25 and Birchanger services at Junction 8 (Stansted turnoff - CM23 5QZ) on the M11
Kent / Sussex border - calling at Charing and also at Benenden village hall (TN17 4DY)
Transfers from London and Essex also operate at the start of term.
Day pupils also benefit from the provision of two day bus routes to Canterbury and surrounding villages. Details are available on request.
