A very special art exhibition
On the evening of Friday 17th May Wellesley hosted ‘A very special art exhibition’.
The Norton family and one of their family friends, Robin Light, owner of Crane Kalman gallery in London, both generously offered to lend the school some artwork from their art collections. An extensive collection of Naive Art by famous English artists of note including LS Lowry was exhibited in The Old Hall at Wellesley. Shown alongside this was artwork produced by 15 Wellesley pupils inspired by this theme.
Work by Wellesley pupils was auctioned to raise money to buy a 3D printer for the art department. The auction raised £2300 which was over double the original target.
Thank you so much to the Nortons, Robin and all the Wellesley artists who donated their work, and to all the people who attended and supported the very enjoyable evening.
