ISI Report 2011

Life as a boarder

Boarding is at the heart of Wellesley life, underpinning the family nature of the school.

Boarding accommodation is homely and comfortable.

ISI Report 2012

Junior Boys
Boys up to the age of ten board in Boddington House, a smaller boarding house than that in the Senior School. This means that we can provide a cosy boarding environment for the younger boys. The dormitories are attached to the family home of the Housemaster and his wife, and their house is very much the centre of the boarding experience, with the boys spending lots of time with them playing games, watching movies and occasionally baking cookies or toasting marshmallows! It is a real home-from-home experience, and this is so important to younger boarders.

We also offer Flexi-Boarding in Boddington House, which means that you can sign up to board on certain nights a week as you choose. This offers the best of both worlds and it has become a popular arrangement with pupils and parents alike.

Girls board at The Orchard which has a special atmosphere where friendships really flourish. They have their own common room but also enjoy the benefits of private gardens and a library.  They are looked after by the Housemaster and his wife, and by their own dedicated team of matrons.

Senior Boys
Boys aged between 11 and 13 board in the Senior House. They have their own common rooms and are looked after by the Head of Boarding, the Headmaster and his wife, the assistant Housemaster, and a team of experienced matrons.
