"Geography will teach children how to understand and respect our inheritance."

Institute of British Geographers

As a young man, my fondest dream was to become a Geographer. However, whilst working in the customs office I thought deeply about the matter and concluded it was too difficult a subject. With some reluctance I then turned to Physics as a substitute.

Why we teach Geography at Wellesley House

It is the overall mission of the Geography Department to provide a curriculum that enables all pupils to develop in full their ability to use and understand geographical information.

We hope that our pupils will enjoy learning Geography. We seek to create an interesting and varied learning environment where we are enthusiastic for the subject. After all, "Paddington liked geography; at least he liked his sort of geography." A Bear Called Paddington - Michael Bond.
