Last weekend, 15 of our pupils (stretching across all year groups in the school) took part in poetry recital, prose reading, mime and duologue classes at the Thanet festival in Broadstairs. We were delighted that several of our pupils were awarded places by the adjudicator and full results can be found in the Wellesley Weekly. However, of particular note were Archie Butterfill and Henry Barker (Block 3) who won the Year 6 duologue, and Chidwick Cup, with an extract from “Blackadder“, and Tabitha Butterfill and Poppy Falcon (Block 1) who won the U13 duologue as the “ugly sisters” from “Cinderella”. Mrs Flory, our LAMDA teacher, was so proud of all of our entrants for the courage and skill that they demonstrated on stage.
